2012 Big Chill
January 20 & 21
The Big Chill is a two day event which will kick off on Friday, January 20th at the Red Mill Inn with wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, and maybe something new. Saturday's activities take place at Mercer Park in the heart of the Village of Baldwinsville, located on the Seneca River. It is a family-fun day with a snowman making contest, "Best in Bowl" cook-off, and the signature "Polar Bear Plunge!" Teams and individuals will be raising money while taking a frosty dip into the Seneca River. The Poker Bear Express is a poker run/pub crawl that keeps the fun rolling into the evening. The Big Chill has seen more than 1000 participants annually since its inception 4 years ago and has raised $70,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY, and the Greater Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce

PLUNGE TIME ASSIGNMENTS - Pre-Registration will take place from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday (1/18) & Thursday (1/19) at the Chamber. We encourage plungers to come one of those days to get their assigned Plunge time, turn in their collected funds, etc. If you are Plunging as a team only one Team Member needs to present. We will try to accommodate your requests if possible, but we cannot guarantee your requested time will be available, so come early.
*Note - Minimum age for Plunger is 16 with a signed Parent’s consent form.

Wine, Cheese, Chocolate, & More.... - Red Mill Inn
Starts at 7 PM
The Big Chill Weekend will again start with “Wine, Cheese, Chocolate, & More….” at the Red Mill Inn on Friday (1/20/12). The wine will be from Hunt Country Vineyards and arrangement for it was made by the members of the Cirque d’ Vin Wine Tasting Club. The evening will also be featuring chocolates from Speach Candy and cheese from Buttercup Dairy to be paired with the wines, great food from Tabatha’s, music by Jamie Notarthomas, a silent raffle, and, attendees get to keep the glass!Ticket Prices for Friday evening;
$30 each / $50 for a couple, if purchased in advance

The winner will be announced at 9:30 PM at Fat Johnny’s Tavern
Poker Bear Express Format;
- The game is from 5-9 PM Saturday January 21st
- It costs $10 for each game card
- Go to the 5 locations and draw ONE card at each location
- Bonus cards can be purchased for $5 but you still need to visit all 5 locations
- Completed cards must be submitted to a Chamber Volunteer by 9PM
- The Best 5 Card Poker Hand wins
